Finally, we don't mean to get too preachy here. So, we will keep it short it simple when it comes to our tenets (not the movie - we are still scratching our heads since watching that movie). The third tenet and movie that our parents called a (Obama style) teachable moment for us was based on Interstellar. What a movie. Christopher Nolan - big fan. Hans Zimmer's soundtrack - timeless. Now you might ask what has a space and time and gravity based movie got to do with our third musketeer - Love. Well, turns out this movie is all about love. Love of a parent for their child. Transcending across dimensions of space, time, gravity. Sheesh!!! Wonderful. Here are some of the best quotes that touched our hearts.
"Now, we're just here to be memories for our kids. Once you're a parent, you're the ghost of your children's future."
"Maybe it means something more - something we can't yet understand. Maybe it's some evidence, some artifact of a higher dimension that we can't consciously perceive. I'm drawn across the universe to someone I haven't seen in a decade, who I know is probably dead. Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it.
"Wow, we talk about miracles, we talk about hope, we talk about courage, but the real glue which connects the dots is love. Put yourself in the shoes of a new mom to preemie babies - the connection is already so deep. Now imagine that this mom having the strength to standup up just a few hours after surgery and wanting to check on her babies to make sure they are doing ok in their incubators. Where does that strength come from. It’s all love. How else could we explain it?
As a parent, your love for your kids is probably the one selfless feeling you have in your life. As growing kids, we are yet to fully understand the depth of this love, the selflessness, the sacrifice. We are only scratching the surface, but we do appreciate it. And we do 'hope' that as we grow, the experiences that we have in our lives, the teachings that we get from our parents and teachers, the relationships we build with our friends give us the 'courage' to spread the 'love' back.
"And as the unknown future
Rolls towards us,
We see it
With a sense of hope,
For what seemed impossible before,
Now seems in our scope."
