Two peas in a pod...

Hiya! How's it going? Our names are Krish and Kabir and we are fraternal twins. We don't look alike, but we do think alike (most times). We are 11 years old and this store, this initiative is our story. We were born in Livingston, New Jersey at Saint Barnabas Hospital. We were born preemies (31 weeks) and were lovingly fattened up in the NICU till we could be ready to move home.

Now that we are precocious 11-yr olds (yeah we love to humble brag), and understand the world around us a little more, we are grateful to the love and care that we received in the NICU. 'Grateful' is a powerful word. Probably too deep for our young minds to understand. But we have started on this journey. A journey of appreciation, gratefulness, positivity - giving back as we go along.

We are grateful to have such loving parents. And we appreciate (I hope we spelled this word correctly) all that they went through when we were born. Countless retellings of how we were born made us realize that the journey from preemie, to the stay in the NICU to the milestone monitoring for years is lonely. And it required our parents to be strong. It was lonely since not everyone around us understood that a flu could be fatal to our preemie lungs and the extra care our mom took to ensure that there is no dust around us. It required them to be strong when one of us jumped from the bed landing on his head. Or when one of us faked sickness so that he could really extend his stay in the NICU next to his brother.

We appreciate the nurses who took care of us as their own. Who gave us nicknames and started identifying us as individuals with different personalities right from when we were born. And we appreciate the healthcare system (no matter how broken it may be).

This store, these blogs are our tiny ways of giving back. Giving Hope. Courage. And Love. Back to the universe. Back to the parents with high-risk pregnancies. To the preemies fighting day in and day out for a chance. To the doctors and nurses who very patiently deal with harried parents. To the NICU.

And we hope to make a tiny dent in our little universe by donating all profits from this store to the NICU systems in Mumbai to begin with. This is our story. And we hope to take you along with us as we fly.

For our inaugural launch, we are unveiling a very very limited set of hoodies symbolizing what we have just spoken about. "Hope. Courage. Love". Three words is all it takes to get through. And we have chosen a Lighthouse motif. A beacon symbolizing these very words. (Not our fault, our daddy made us watch a lot of Batman movies, so we are all into symbols and beacons). Every hoodie will be accompanied by a letter in our squiggly handwriting along with a silent prayer that we will mutter for you and yours as we ship your item to you. (The silent prayer is not just for your happiness, but also that you find our letter legible).

Every item in this store would be reasonably priced - its not about the money, honey! And as you strut and swag around in your new threads, we 'hope' that you have the same 'courage' to spread the 'love' back to this beautiful world.
